　幼児の遊戯歌として広く知られる「きらきら星」。フランス民謡とされるこのメロディを用いたものが有名で、歌詞はイギリスの詩人姉妹、アン(1782-1866)とジェイン・テイラー(1783-1824)が作品「The Star」（1806年）がもとになっている。
　このメロディは、岡野貞一が作曲した「日の丸の旗」（白地に赤く、日の丸染めて／高野辰之作詞）とも非常によく似ている。
