　ゆっくりと陽の光が消えてゆき、静かな夜が訪れる頃からは、神と語らう時間がやってくる、という心の平安をテーマとした歌。
　この唄には、「真昼の光、静かに薄れ、祭の宵は、楽しくきたる」という日本語詞（訳詞）が付けられていた。この訳は、小林愛雄（本名：ちかお／通常：あいお）によるもので、彼は早稲田実業の校長も務めた文学者である。彼の作品としては、文部省唱歌の「菊の花」が、ヒット・ソングとしてはオペラ「ボッカチオ」の「恋はやさし」の訳詞（恋はやさしい、野辺の花よ〜）が有名。
